I get asked a lot of questions about my newsletters.... How I do certain things, etc. I thought I would share some of what I do with you, starting with my last newsletter, which I posted recently.
First, you will need to select the type of wizard that you want to use...

I always choose 'use the new email wizard'
Next you'll need to choose what kind of email you are sending....

Typically I click on newsletters.... my newsletter is done using the format People II. This last newsletter blast was done using 'promotions....

Clearly I changed the photo to a shot of a room of the home that we had staged. The sale price was changed to the MLS number, etc...

now, adding in the links.... This is done much the same way that we add links here in AR. When you are editing the blocks, you will notice on the toolbar to the left a box that says Insert. Underneath are 'image' and 'link'

This gives you the ability to add links and photos anywhere you like!
I hope this answers all your questions! If not, let me know and I'll do my best to help out.....
If you are ready to try constant contact & want a free trial plus $30 credit when you join, email me and I'll send you a referral ....

I just finished typing up a newsletter on Constant Contact, but I never would have thought to use one for a blog. Ahh, there's so much to learn! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks Melissa. Great post. I started using Constant Contact about a month ago and I love it. One of the services that I offer includes sending eblasts to agents in our market area. Constant Contact has made this simple and has great information about the mailings after you send them. I always enjoy reading your posts because they are always informative.
great info Melissa! Thx for sharing

Thanks for the helpful advice. All this info is really great for people just starting out in the world of technology.
Your newsletter looks great, is interactive and appears to be very user friendly! Thanks for sharing.
YES, YES, I'm ready! Send me a free trial and $30 credit! It looks easy enough for ME to do it! Thanks, Melissa!
Melissa this looks like I might be able to manage it ... thanks for the step by step instructions.
Melissa, Thanks for the great instructions.. I would love a $30 credit - please ...justheavenlydecor at charter.net Also, when you first started emailing agents - did you get their permission first.. I know that you have mentioned getting their info at open houses, etc - just wondered how you started.> Thanks - God bless - I can't wait to hear about my client's trip to Charleston..
E-newsletters really are easy!! They work amazingly well too!
Cheryl - I do not ask their permission first. This may technically be spam, but in all honestly most agents are accustomed to getting many news blasts on properties and this is something that can actually help grow their business. One thing we hear over and over again when we are in front of a lot of agents is how much they love our newsletters! Give them GOOD INFO they can use and they won't mind at all. With over 2300 agents on our newsletter base, we get on average less than 1 spam report a month.... and typically that only happens when we add a significant number of agents after an open house, etc.
Melissa - please send me the link! I was just thinking yesterday about investing some time in creating a newsletter and thought, "I better check out Melissa's blog archives to learn more"!
I have another Constant Contact question - and I can't seem to find the answer on their website.
I'm writing up a newsletter and would like to insert a real estate show so they can just click on the Play button. Do you know how to do that? I've tried all the difference links the realestateshows.com sent me to try, but none of them work.
Thanks for any tips.
Thanks for the tips and info. We have been using Constant Contact too and it's really effective. It's nice when something surpasses your expectations. Happy Staging.
Beth - What we do is add a photo from the slideshow then hyperlink it to the RES. When they click on the photo they will be taken to the RES. I don't think there is a way to imbed it like we can in AR because it doesn't use HTML. Then again you might be able to use the Classic Email Wizard because I know it did accept HTML. Try it! (it is not as user friendly however)
Thank you so much, Melissa. That's very helpful.
Melissa,
Great post. I have been using Constant Contact for over 3 and a half years now and had not considered using the format that you use. Great idea to promote your staging jobs. With redesigns it would be a little different.
Constant Contact takes a little to learn bur it is great to us for your tracking purposes, too! Great ideas!
Have a Colorful Day!
I've been considering a newsletter too. Nice to hear you're pleased w/ Constant Contact. I trying to decide between iContact and Constant Contact. Thanks for sharing your tips and how-to's!
