Someone posted some time ago about a product they used to paint dated tile white. Could someone either let me know what that product is and where to find it, or direct me to the blog/blogger who wrote about it! I have a client who is wanting to do this after I mentioned it to them. They went to Sherwin Williams today and they didn't know anything about it.... HELP!!

Hi Melissa;
I didn't see that posts, but I had this article bookmarked from some ago. Maybe this will help you out a bit. http://www.doityourself.com/stry/paintceramictile
Good luck!
Melissa...back once more. There is an even better article on this site about the process of painting tile. It's lengthy, but wow...she cover's it all. http://www.bejane.com/ask_jane_painting_over_laminate_surfaces_and_tile
I just saw a Design to Sell episode last night that had two bathrooms "tile glazed." It looked awesome. I Googled "tile glazing" and there were plenty of websites to choose from. Here's one that looked interesting http://www.beautifulfinishes.com/ceramic_tile_refinishing.html Hope this helps you!
Thanks, Gina - great links. I bookmarked those. I imagine in a home for sale that painting tile can be a less expensive and effective alternative to a remodel.
I think I remember Tori (?) writing a blog on painting old grout. That thing comes in a pen form at home Depot or Lowes. It works pretty good to cover up stained or discolored grout and bring it back to white. I'm not sure how long it lasts however.
Hi Melissa, I can not remember what my client found. I think it was at Home Depot. However, she painted the tile and we transformed it from a very outdated Southwest style to a wonderful copper faux finsish that really made a difference. I will look these good ideas to see what works the best. If one works better than another, it would be great to know. Thank you and best wishes for your client!
Hi Melissa, I wrote a blog couple of weeks ago http://activerain.com/blogsview/464759/My-reply-was-GET" You can get the paint from Lowes. If you are using this in the bathroom(high humidity)you will need to etch tile with muriatic acid first. If you don't use the hammered paint, you should use an enamel paint. Make sure you tape all grout lines if you want grout to remain the same. Hope this helps.
There is a company that does this called www.miraclemethod.com
It is an epoxy paint and can be purchased at a Lowe's or ask your BM dealer. I had a friend who did her bathroom but it does take alot of steps, the job came great.

Hey Melissa, I know that Home Depot carries a primer that you use specifically for painting tile. It helps regular paint adhere to the tiles but I am not sure what it was called.
Let us know how the project turns out and which method and products your client ended up using!
