Speaking Up about Home Staging

Does this look like $1 Million to you?

Ah, gotcha.... you thought this was going to be another 'bad mls photos' blog, didn't you?  Actually this is a follow up to my blog, My favorite staging job ever! I could live here.... I had the opportunity to stage a beautiful home in one of Charleston's most prestigious neighborhoods, I'on.  The home has been on the market for over a year and a half and walking through it I feel I knew why.

These are some of the actual MLS photos before staging....

Now contrast this before to the staged after photo....

Clearly the home is a beautiful home.  What do you do with the space though?  It has a very open floorplan that leave many buyers wondering "how is it all going to fit together?"  The lack of furniture does nothing to create size and scale.  Staging has created warmth and really shows how stunning this home is AND shows how large this home is!

Now, if you would like to see what the entire staging job looks like.... click here to visit my kodakgallery slide show.

Unfortunately I got called to Savannah today on an emergency and was unable to take these photos myself.  My business partner Bevin - bless her - took these photos for me.  Read her blog Another Reason Why A Good Camera is so Important to Staging... after you peek.  She's clearly awesome with a camera!

I thanked her for taking the photos and providing the slide show for me.  Her comment about the home was, "well its easy with an awesome home. It looked incredible - the pictures dont even do it justice. I feel like this one will sell quick, which will be even more awesome!" and this is from a professional home stager who knows the market, the community and sees my work on a daily basis.

This was the seller's reaction to the staging job, "Wow!  It looks great, maybe I'll move back in!"

Honestly, don't know why more sellers just do not get it.  The house does look amazing with the staging and it won't take long to sell.

Melissa, your staging highlights the open feature of this floorplan which lends itself so well to entertaining.  The furniture arrangement has ample seating, yet allows communication between grouping areas.  Everything flows together elegantly.  Love those hurricane candles on the dining table!

Connie - Thank you!  It seems we've been getting a lot of high end (million +) homes lately.  We don't actively market to this group so we are guessing they like our portfolios.  I'm glad our work is making a statement!

Betty - It is easy when you have something so beautiful to work with!  Thank you!

Kathy - *sigh* The hurricanes are from Kirklands.  We bought them at their closing sale.  (We no longer have one in our area)  We bought the last 2 sets and they are great!

JL - Thank you!
