I've been watching (much like Julianna) and waiting wondering if I would ever get to be MeMe'd.... I think most people already thought I had been... (or so I was told). Thanks Jackie for tagging me .....
So... what don't you know about me? I blog so much I'm sure you think you already know so much...
1) I am intensly spiritual, but not religious - I have issues with organized religions. I have lived in the south most of my life and get frustrated with intelligent people not following the teachings of the bible, but rather their minister. Jesus was a giving man who led the example of loving everyone, not just select people who followed whatever rules were set forth. I like that philosophy. I do not align myself with any religion, but rather respect that we are all children of God and try to live my life accordingly.... Read (or at least try to read) A Course In Miracles - it will fill in the blanks between religion and spirituality....
2) Sounds like a contradiction to #1, but I am human.... I am either your best friend or worst enemy. I am fiercely loyal, but when my loyalty has been taken advantage of, I am fierce. I'm only 5ft tall and built more like a woman than a girl - make me mad and I'm a bit of Bill Bixby... 'Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry'... The good news, it takes a lot to push me here... I do feel most people are good people.
3) While I was a stay at home mom for 14 yrs I was also a professional crafter. I have been published in 3 national magazines for my crafts - the last and most notable Country Marketplace in April 2006 (my birthday month too!) I was trained and certified by Donna Dewberry herself as a One Stroke Instructor. On many occassion I was asked to mass produce my crafts for various companies and declined. Most of my crafts were sold in Hawaii when we were stationed there - my husband was in the Navy. My ornaments still hang in the Governor's Mansion at Christmas time.
4) I am addicted to soda... I do drink Coke Zero at home, but honestly prefer the red can to the black one. It is what I can do to save a few calories. I probably drink close to 8 a day (more or less depending on the day). The family joke is that my sister is a pot head and I am a coke addict - mine just comes in the form of a little red can. I've tried to stop, but my kids actually asked me to start again... I'm just a happier person. Anyone remember the commercials with the carbonation bubbles? They almost make me giddy.... it's very sad.... but true!
5) I love Vampire & Witch movies etc. Vampires are my most often chosen Halloween costume & prior to getting braces a few years back I actually paid to have my dentist make me vampire teeth (removable) for the holiday. Anne Rice's books are very sexy and I love to read them. My yahoo screen name is actually ricesrowan after Anne Rice's book, The Mayfair Witches. Rowan is the main character. My best friend advised me there were a lot of similarities between Rowan and myself so it became a nickname. My first corporation was called Rowan Enterprises because of this connection. I do not feel this is in any way in conflict with #1.
Ok, I was going to MeMe Julianna since I knew she hadn't been yet... but now who? Please forgive me if you've already been MeMe'd.... I may have missed it!

Oh, thanks for thinking of me, Melissa. I enjoyed your meme. I kicked the soda habit for months and months, but this last weekend I drank that sweet nectar like a mad fool, at my sons B-day, so I understand your passion.
Perhaps staging is your organized religion! Anyway, we will have to make sure garlic is served at our SIF convention on the Freedom of the Seas cruise to the Bahamas to protect us all from your vampire teeth.
Fernando, make a note of that
:-)
Melissa! Wow!! Now see what we've been missing? I'm glad you hadn't been MeMe'd before, I wouldn't have gone back through your blogs to find your MeMe and I'd not know you like this ;)
I love how you articulated and introduced your Meme - it says much about you and your walk, your courage and your integrity. I guess I should mention I subscribe to the same beliefs except I do read the Bible.
Good grief, a phenomenal crafter too? Photos - we're a visual crowd! Re: the coke, too funny, my family says I should forget about drinking coffee and just inhale it.
Jackie
Julianna - I don't own the teeth anymore - they stopped fitting after my braces... lol! I actually love garlic, so we are good...
When staging actually gets organized maybe that will work in place of the church.... lol
Jackie - I have read and enjoy many passages from the bible. I actually love almost any history show about the bible - Mysteries of the Bible is my favorite. My issue is that so many 'religious' people change the actual meaning behind the words. I suppose my feelings are amplified by the fact that my best friend is gay and it seems that, again in the south, this seems to be such an issue.... that she is somehow less than the rest of us. I know few people who are as giving and caring as she is... sometime if you want to know I'll share a story with her about you that will make you understand our connection and friendship and why I will always fiercly defend her ..... regardless of what anyone may say about her sexual orientation.
I'll have to find or take some photos of my crafts. I guess I could take some of my Christmas tree ornaments....
Melissa ~ I was very big into crafts when I was a stay-at-home-Mom too, although not professionally! Those were the years when most of the Christmas gifts were homemade!
Another one who can paint artistically! I just read Heather Chotard's MeMe and she is talented that way too. I am jealous!
Thanks for sharing about yourself!
Great post! Vampires & witches... very cool & no it does not in any way contradict #1. You're correct. Actually, it's worth looking into wicca as a religion. I love to read about different religions (although, like you, have issue with organized religion) just to see what they're about. I found Wicca to be very interesting. (Of course, nothing like the Anne Rice books, which I also love). Thanks for sharing!
Well, you have been meme'd before... but by someone who you obviously don't read on a regular basis: - me!
I tagged you on August 17th -- http://activerain.com/blogsview/177027/MeMe-May-Mah-Moh
And it's fun to know all you! Thanks for FINALLY doing it!!! <gr>
Juliet
Kathy - I haven't read Heather's yet... will have to do that later! I actually love painting, but mostly on wood.
Chris - I had a friend in Hawaii who was Wiccan. She had some interesting thoughts on things. It is very much an earth bound religion - elements... not all all horror/sci fi movie stuff... and you are right, nothing like Anne Rice.
Juliet - Ok, I feel like a heel.... *please forgive me!*... I don't know how I missed that. You know I read you often because I comment regularly. Sometimes things get through the cracks of my brain...
Kristina - Only when I'm desperate do I use my crafts.... I find them too personalized. My style is country & I stage very few homes that way.
Yep...another MeMe is definitely in order!
Jackie
MEME - MEME - give us a MEME!
MEME -MEME - give us another MEME!
Good golly y'all.. Ok, how about this...
6) Men who make me laugh are sexy.... This is why I love my husband so much. He always makes me laugh, even when it is at his expense! My favorite sexy stars... Will Smith & Brendan Frasier. I know, they aren't sex symbols, but their humor and confidence is sexy to me. They are also good husbands & fathers.. what could be more sexy than that?
I don't think I could come up with 4 more... is this enough?? or do I need to rack my brain? I always give myself away here... what else could you possibly not know?? lol!!
Hi Melissa, I enjoyed reading about you and I definetly agree with your #4 and #6.
You have an interesting life and ,in my opinion, run a top notch business.
Great MeMe Melissa. I guess I really have to do one now. I am thinking on it and will have it posted soon. I agree with your #1, #2, #5, and #6, although I like more Vampire movies than Witch movies.
Maureen - Nicolas Cage is great.... another example of a man who is not necessarily good looking, but sexy...
Teresa - thank you so much for your kind words! I'm sorry to hear you have issues with #4 also, but can #6 make up for it? I think so!
Tanya - I just read yours and thought it was so awesome.. thanks for sharing! I'm glad I meme'd you!
Melissa, I love getting to know others via MeMe's! How long were you in Hawaii?
Here's the link to more than you ever wanted to know 'bout me!

Thanks for asking!
Great Meme! We have so much in common I'm amazed.
Happy Holidays Melissa!
Dane
Wow Dane! Who knew? This is probably why you and I bump heads sometimes - we are too much alike! I know that theory works with my husband and son anyway....
Oh, and Frank - yeah.. but I think (at least from his profile picture) he is the standard kind of sexy & not just the makes me laugh kind of sexy.... Frank - if you are reading - please don't file a sexual harassment suit - K? lol.....
