St Augustine, St Johns County Real Estate & Home Staging

Time to Relax?

So everyone seems to think a stagers life is exciting and glamourous.  I'm always told this.  I've been teaching all week.  We staged 4 homes (2 vacant, 2 owner occupied) and now frankly I'm pooped!  I've spent my Saturday off in my pjs (nope, I haven't gotten dressed yet & my hair is in a scrunchy) cleaning my home and watching TLC & HGTV.  In a moment I"ll get up to make some dinner and then kick back with a movie & a hot cocoa with tons of whipped cream.

How do you relax or unwind when the workday is done?

This isn't from today, but it is me & my honey after a LONG day (my son's high school graduation).

Melissa - we need a different pic of you - who knew you had those baby blues!!!

I unwind with 3 basketball games, 2 Gaelic football practices followed by karate. Topped off by having my nephews sleep over.  Unwind???  Never heard of it.  (but I wouldn't have it any other way)

Maureen - busy busy.  I used to do a lot of that.  My son is all grown up now & I'm undecided if I miss those days.  I love these days so much.  I'm sure you know what I mean!  My girls were never 'joiners'.  Trips to the movies & mall... that's a different story!

Clearly I need a better photo  because I'm also always told I look younger in person (by almost everyone who sees this photo - practically the first words out of their mouth).  Here is another one.... with my girls & my best friend (and assistant) at the local fair.

Melissa - So good to read this post. We as women and moms typically put ourselves at the bottom of the list, don't we? I had a doctor's appointment last week and was pretty tired and stressed, he asked me when was the last time I had a "getaway". I gave him a blank stare and had to ask him to define getaway! I swear I was serious, and sadly I had to say I have never had a getaway on my own or with a girlfriend. I can't begin to tell you how depressed I felt! I need to rethink a few things, so thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Melissa,

I've got many ways I like to relax and unwind, but my favorites...

-glass of wine, candles, soak in bath

-tv remote, dvr, sofa and a pillow

-cuddle with my husband

-in-home spa treatment...foot soak, mani, pedi, lotions and potions (but I really prefer to go to a bona fide spa when I can afford it)

I'm not a mom, so I don't have any kids to deal with...if I were a mom, there'd probably be a lot more wine/vodka in my unwind list!

Melissa- yeah, those eyes are amazing AND you have such a caaaaalm countenance about your

My idea of relaxing is either on the beach with a stack of books, some munchies and my family -  OR cuddled up in my favorite chair next to a roaring fire with a good book, pot of decaf coffee and my family in the same room doing what they want to do.

Hi woman! Have to say I'm so right there with Maureen. Your blue eyes are wonderful!!!

My unwind time is nsuggling with the hubby, a glass fo red wine, 2 Dove dark chocolates and a good flick.

Veronica, ok I'll admit I'm a bit jealous of all of your free time but also wouldn't have it any other way.  Our two kids have my heart...and before I know it they'll be gone to school so I'm treasuring each and every moment. They do actually help me with my own in-home spa treatment. My 4 year old and I even swap back scratches :)

Rhonda -  My best friend (aside from my husband, of course) is Sue (photo above).  She is also my work assistant.  We do actually take a girls weekend away about once a year and try to have some fun besides that.  We have access to a cabin at Lake Marion in SC and love going there to just get away and sit and watch the waves roll in.... no technology... just sand, sun & surf..

Veronica - my time with my kids is actually often my unwind time.  I love doing family things.  While I may be just as exhausted at the end of the day as if I had worked, I always feel GREAT!  Of course I love the peds, manis & spa time tooo.... I just don't seem to make them a time or money priority.

Jackie - you are my kind of gal!  Those are some of my favorite times also!  The day in the photo above was actually the night of my son's high school graduation & we had family & friends around a bon fire at the beach.... that probably explains the look of serenity!

Beth - I don't really get into the wine & chocolate thing, though Dove dark is pretty darn good!  Snuggling is good.... it doesn't seem to happen as often as it probably should.

Thanks to all the compliments on my eyes.. I'll try to get a better photo sometime with them more prominently visible... lol!

I love how you unwind.  Sounds like a perfect day. :)

TIME????  RELAX????  Those are two words I haven't been able to relate with in awhile.  Now with Holidays upon I still can't see the light at the end of the tunnel...or my unorganized garage!

Right now, Sunday is my favorite day!  Big breakfast in the morning, lots of coffee..then the SAN DIEGO CHARGER'S!!

If the Charger's win (50% chance right now) then it is off to the local wineries.  Which to me is like a slice of heaven.
