Speaking Up about Home Staging

Staging CE Course - Tell me what you want to know....

I have been working with the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors creating a Continuing Education course on Real Estate Staging.  I am almost done & ready to submit to LLR.  What I would like to know before I turn in my final copy is:

What would you, as an agent, like to know about staging?

If you were to attend this course, what are the topics you would be most interested in?

What types of handouts would you like to receive?

What would you NOT care to hear information about?

Thank you so much for letting me know what you think!  This course is for you - the agent, so I want to make sure you get what you want to know out of it......

I'd want before and after pictures, and proof that it works that I can give to sellers.  By that I mean, days on the market before staging and after.  Price comparisons of similar homes and how much they sold for staged and unstaged.

Staging is a new idea here.  We know it works in other places, but we have no track record we can point to in Grand Rapids, MI.

Just last week, I posted and asked stagers for stats.  I got nada.

Thank you Karen!   I appreciate knowing what you want to know.  I also commented on your blog regarding stats.  From the title you were looking for stagers in Eastern MI - I don't know if my stats will help.  My suggestion is to directly email some stagers in your area and ask them directly for examples of homes that worked & ones that didn't.  I can tell you staging doesn't always work.

A home sells based on Location, Price & Condition.  Staging only controls one of those variables - and only if the stager is given the right budget & authorization to do what is needed (plus the stager has to be good at what they do).
