Speaking Up about Home Staging

And the results are in... Design Star Winner.... (Spoiler Alert!)

The design star winner is Kim.... I voted for her, so I'm very happy.  I thought Todd was absolutely a great sport stepping away giving her the stage.  What a man!

I really enjoyed this last season, but would have enjoyed seeing more individual challenges and less group challenges.  Now I'm ready for America's Next Top Model starting on Wednesday....

Hahahaha!!!!!  I'm only 5 ft tall.... (let's not even discuss the figure issues!)... I don't think I would get very far.  My assistant keeps telling me to apply for the next Design Star season though.... I don't think that's happening either.

hmmmm.... maybe the universe is telling me otherwise... my online nickname for the past 8 years or so has been Rowan and guess what my graphic is... 'rowan'  maybe I need to rethink this.... lol!

Melissa, I think you should apply for it!  Im not that good with tools and I would probably get like Will- real giddy and too talkative about the design

I'm glad Kim won; I thought they were both pretty good, but I think she did great with her rooms and her on-camera presence.

Now this is my strength... I'm great with power tools.  I had a 'craft business' for 10 years prior to this and own a couple of scroll saws (both very expensive and superior to any you can find in a retail store), my favorite toy is my 12" compound miter saw with it's own SUV (Saw Utility Vehicle), Pancake compressor with various attachments, and many many more...  I'm good with all of them and love playing.... my husband says it's sexy to see his wife covered in sawdust.... who knew?

I'm with you, Melissa.  Todd was great, but took too many cues from last year's winner, David, by removing the shirt too often - and I ADORE David!

Looking forward to ANTM too!  Julie

I voted for Kim too!  This season seemed so short - but so much more talent than last year.  I liked Todd, loved the sign - my favorite tool is a Todd, could have been the name of his show.  Thought his ideas were just to far out there sometime, very very cool, but not liveable. Kim on camera was great and the hair stylist thing, way cool.  The final show she rocked it!!

Can you image working under that kind of pressure, you have $12 and 24 hours to redo a kitchen.  Oh wait that is what we do - never mind!!

You know it just goes to show us that it doesn't matter what training or design we have behind us... it is the person, the drive, and the talent! I loved Todd too, but I am so glad that a "hair designer" got it!!! "Way to mix things up!"

Melissa,
I am so glad Kim won! She is fantastic. Not only with her work, but the way she presents it. And she doesn't even have any formal design training. What a gal!
