Some of you may remember that about a year ago I wrote a blog called Deja vu?? What happens when two of us do the same house two years apart? Here are some excerpts from that blog:
Last week I received an email from a past client. Two years ago we staged a downtown Charleston loft and in less than a month it went under contract. The deal was supposed to be a lease to own, but apparently things didn't go exactly as planned with the economy and banking being what they are. Recently the tenants moved out and the home was ready to go back on the market. The email was on Thusday of last week and the new open house was scheduled for Thursday of this week.... with no time to spare and my calendar being completely full, I turned the staging job over to one of our experienced team members, David Moon.
I had no doubt that he would do an amazing job - he always does! I was curious how it would differ from what I did 2 years ago. Leaving him completely on his own to do what he does best, I waited until today when I could see the completed project. So.... how did they compare?

(Mine) (David's)
Now, I confess I think he did do a better job on this unit than I did way back when.... in my defense, we certainly have a broader selection of inventory than I did.... anyway, that's my excuse and I'm sticking too it.... lol!
I am curious what the homeowner will say having seen both....
Well, recently this homeowner has called us again letting us know that the tenants will again be vacating and wants us to recreate this fantastic job. David has already been notified that it's up to him to wow our client again! I wonder what he'll create this time!
How often do you get to stage the same unit, for the same homeowner 3 times?

I actually like them both. What I like about yours, Melissa, is the arrangement you have in front of the fireplace. What I like about David's is the love seat (left side) and end table. They both look great.
Kathy
Hi Melissa,
Its amazing to me how many different looks a room can have-I think you did a marvelous job! Want to see pics from the third time around-3 times a charm, eh?
Both times it looks great.
I've never staged the same house twice, never mind three times! I'm looking forward to the next installment with the new pictures.
Both photos look great. Melissa, yours looks clean and spacious. David's looks more warm and cozy. We always think of realtors as repeat clients, but never a homeowner. This is a great story. Hope you'll be posting the 3rd staging.
Let's call it a tie and I'm going with you on the broader selection of inventory now! Never had this happen but it's a cool story!
Kathy - I agree with you assessment. David did have the luxury of additional furntiure, but none the less, he did an amazing job! I love his sense of style... can't wait to see what he does here next.
Lisa - I'll definately be posting them when it's done (which won't be until April)
Wanda - thanks!
Sharon - me too!
Sally - it's kind of a little crazy, right? But crazy in an amazing way!
Karen - David is doing round 3 as the client really loved what he did with this last one. I promised her she would get the same designer...
Can't wait to see new pictures, but have no doubt - you both are amazing talents! Smart clients - what a testimony!
My thoughts are similar to Kathy's; both present 2 different vibes, but both very effective. Very cool to have this opportunity. I have had the pleasure of staging a clients home twice, just finished the second time last month! Don't think there will be a third though....looking forward to your third set of pics!
I can't wait to see the third installment of this loft...plese be sure to post photos...
Congrats Melissa -- both jobs are fab! and then to get a third opportunity -- speaks volumes on how much your work and company are loved!
I think both look great Melissa, will be looking forward to the next photo!
Sheila - it definately is! It's also great proof that even rental units can benefit from staging.. something we've been doing more and more of lately!
Lisa - thanks! I'm excited to see what David does with it also!
Mary Lou - as soon as I have them!
Karen - thanks! I think it is because we always try to give outstanding customer service and a product that is more than they expect!
Donna - thanks!
