I know, that sounds funny, right? Well, you may remember this blog Would you like to have more showings for your listings? I had an odd situation where the buyer for one of my staged listings has a home to sell but didn't believe in the power of staging. This despite the fact that a man had just purchased a periwinkle and blue home. (The homeowner had just painted and refused to repaint... sigh). The home had been for sale for over a year and after staging went under contract in about 60 days. This is what the agent had to say to the buyer regarding the staging....
"We first dropped the price to 200K and showings picked up (7 in one month). Then a month later we staged it and showings really began to take off (39 in two months). Staging cost, but it pays in the long run."
Chris Facello, Agent, Carolina One Real Estate, Charleston Central Office
Well after several weeks the buyer (who is also a seller) decided that staging might just be worth it... (listen closely to the music from the heavens here...)
Hopefully we'll have the same results for this seller as they provided for the seller of the home this seller just purchased..... did that even make sense?? lol....

It is good the buyer finally saw the light-sometimes a little something goes a long way.
I believe in staging a home. It makes all the difference in the eyes of potential buyers.
Melissa,
Such a great story. This just proves that buyers don't know why they like the staged home, there is just something wonderful about it. With your staging I have no doubt the buyer/seller will have the same results.
Melissa, beautiful Staging job! Great story. I'm sure a quick sale will make a believer out of the buyer/seller.
Update: I received a call today from the agent and yesterday after we finished staging there were 2 showings ... apparently they received an offer today!!
Melissa-Congratulations-just proves the power of staging!
I love it! This agent will be forever a believer in staging with this back to back experience.
What makes sense is your great work! That home empty would have sat on market a long time.
Great job and congrats on the offer! I often tell Realtors who have a buyer with a house to sell that they need to make sure that house is staged. But, it's been a slow learning curve for Buyer's Agents here...glad you had a better outcome!
