Is it only me who feels this way? What to do....

Ok, I know I'm a little high strung sometimes - maybe even a bit of a perfectionist but am I the only one with this issue?  I look at some of the before and after photos and can't help but want to critique them.... I guess maybe it is my personal pet peeves but sometimes it is really hard to keep my fingers away from the keyboard....

What is worse is that I see a long string of "Wow, that's fabulous".... "What an amazing transformation", etc following these posts.... wouldn't you want to know?  I know I would.... it's a dilema I just don't know how to handle.  If the issue is HUGE I feel the need to speak up.  If it is little, then do I say something or let them continue on being happy with all their kudos?

Here are some issues that make me crazy that I've seen tonight and haven't commented on....

  • Placemats & napkins, but no plates or glasses.... in general this is simply a pet peeve of mine.  Why are they there?  They aren't attractive generally speaking.  Place mats are for plates not to cover the glass or wood.... if you want decoration, add a runner and/or centerpiece.
  • Plants that are dying or in very bad condition.... Does the plant actually enhance the room?  To me when it has almost no leaves left on it then maybe it is time to take it out of the room.  This is STAGING after all!  If you are moving do you really have time to nurse it back to health?  Let it go, or give it to someone who can nurse it back.  If you are just taking the pictures & they won't let it go.... remove it for the photos!
  • Photos hung too high... there are some general rules for this.  60" to center if not over anything, 6-10 inches (depending on size & scale) over an object so it connects to the grouping you are putting it with.
  • Photos hung next to each other but not at the same height.... if you are putting them side by side, make them level please... no stairstepping.

Ok, now I know I am not the before & after police.  Maybe this shows my lack of compasion..... I think it shows that I am interested in educating.  You never know what you don't know unless someone tells you.  What do you think?  Would you want to know or am I just too picky?
